Silver Gate Montana is a beautiful small mountain town located one mile outside the Northeast Entrance to Yellowstone National Park. Sitting at an elevation of 7,400 feet, we are in the midst of some of the most gorgeous alpine peaks in the region which rise to over 10,000 feet—Amphitheatre Mountain, Silvertip Peak, and Mount Republic. To the west, just inside the Park lies Yellowstone’s Lamar Valley, and to the east is the beginning of the Beartooth Scenic Byway as well as the Chief Joseph Scenic Highway winding through the Sunlight Basin of Wyoming into Cody.
Wildlife and wildflowers are abundant in the area. Mountain goats, elk, bison, both grizzly and black bear, deer, fox, moose and mountain sheep travel in and out of the area during the course of the year. Many of these animals saunter right past our cabins.
